Solo Intensive Coaching

Do you want to spend an entire DAY at my home, working with me... *ONE-ON-ONE*?

In-Depth Coaching with Doug Lipman

Are you facing an urgent need in your storytelling? Are you at a fork in your storytelling road that demands you tell stories—as a performer, as a professional, as an executive—more effectively or just differently than you have until now? Is the growth of your storytelling stalled in some way, and you wish you knew what the problem is, not to mention how to solve it?

If so, you may be a candidate for my new Solo Coaching Intensive program, where I invite you into my home for a day of intensive work. I will clear my calendar and focus purely on helping you meet your unique goals and demands.

"Helped me shape…a far better CD!"

"Doug helped me shape my CD project, which was just a notebook of possible stories when I began my solo intensive. More than that, he has coached me to bring out its emotional depth. This will be a very different CD than what I first brought to my Intensive - and a far better one."

--Marion Besmehn, storyteller and writer, Carmel, CA

I've Been Cutting Back…

As some of you know, I have cut way back in my travel schedule since moving to Oklahoma and marrying Pam. I am leading only 2–3 coaching workshops a year and limiting my travel for organizational consulting and training to four days a month. I only scheduled 1 out-of-town storytelling performance this year and have limited myself to 2 festival appearances a year. In other words, I prefer to stay home with Pam and our dog Gabbi. And when I'm there, I guard my time with them.

…But Cindy Called Me

Last year, a storyteller (I'll give her the name "Cindy" to protect her confidentiality) called me from Washington, DC, asking for telephone coaching. After two sessions, she asked if she could come for a full day of coaching in Oklahoma. I wasn't very encouraging; after all, she could have more telephone coaching any time.

But Cindy convinced me of two things:

1. There were things she needed in-person help with; and
2. She needed the in-depth help that only a personal intensive session could provide.

Cindy's Day

Well, Cindy was right. She came to Oklahoma with a list of half-a-dozen issues she urgently wanted help with. Once I saw her tell her story in person, I knew immediately where she was struggling - and was able to begin the process of helping her.

By the end of the day, Cindy felt more than satisfied. Not only were all the issues on her list dealt with, but she said as we parted:

"I hope you know how big a difference today has already made in my life. This was transformative!"

I so enjoyed the chance to make a big difference with her, that I began to "loosen up" a little about protecting my time at home. That's when I decided to offer a new program to a very limited number of people, my Solo Intensive Program.

Are You Like Cindy?

Pondering about what made the day with Cindy work for both of us, I realized that the key factor was her urgent need. She is performing a very demanding story along with a musician and is strongly motivated to do well. In other words, she was facing a major issue that she needed expert help with. She was committed, involved with storytelling in a particular context, and serious about the results she wanted.

Therefore, I am offering the same opportunity to as many as 5 others during the coming year. If you have an appreciation for the power of storytelling and a pressing need to do it better - or if you are passionate about storytelling and face a turning point in your storytelling path - then you may be eligible for a full day of my undivided attention, live and in person.

New: Video and/or Audio Recording of Your Work
